John Fussell after Henry's death. Edith was the daughter of Henry
and Charlotte Mackrell of Charlton Mackrell Somersetshire England.
Edith had three sisters, Ann, Sarah, and Margaret and a brother, Francis.

Spencer. Daniel's third wife Hannah was his first wife's cousin as Gerard

There seems to be someconfusion(and Jacobus is one of the confused!).
I have the following information from The History and Genealogy of the
Families of Old Fairfiled, Donald L. Jacobus, page 105. (Same author
as the other answer, different book.) "Brown, Francis (prob.
bro. of Peter). Deputy (Stamford) to the Conn. Leg.May, 1665, May 1667,
Oct. 1668, May 1669. sometimes confused with Francis Brown of New Haven
who m. Mary Edwards and had a different family. He was apprentice of Henry
Wolcott of Windsor, brought his freedom 1649; married (1) prob. a relative
of Nathenial Ruscoe; bought and sold at Farmington, 1656. He settled at
Stamford, and m. there (2) 17 Dec 1657 Martha Chapman. She was the widow
of John Chapman of Stamford and previously widow of Thomas Lawrence of
Milford. He m. (3) Judith, widow of John Ogden of Stamford, and dau. of
Lt. John Budd, and rem. with her to Rye,NY. [Editorial Note]

_____ (widow of John Strange). One dau., Elizabeth, by 1st wife is
given; two sons, Joseph and Isaac, by 2nd wife. Harlow Dunham Curtis, in
his 1956 typescript, "Descendants of Richard Curtis(1610-1681) of Dorchester,
Mass. and Wallingford, Conn.", states that Sarah was the daughter of Abraham
Howe of Roxbury, Mass. Abraham Howe of Roxbury's will, dated
26 May 1676, makes provision for his grandaughter Sarah Strange and grandsons
Joseph and Isaac Curtis. The will makes no provision for his daughter,
Sarah (Howe) (Strange) Curtis, so she is doubtless deceased by it's writing.....Thus
Sarah (Howe) (Strange) Curtis is now known to have had one dau., Sarah
Strange, by her first husband and two sons, Joseph and Isaac Curtis, by
her 2nd.......The surname of Richard Curtis' first wife, Elizabeth, remains
unknown.

1600, married Sarah Francis at Metfield, she was the mother of his children
and died in New England in 1659. They resided at Wingfield prior to sailing
to New England in about 1641; he was declared a freeman at Salem in 1642.
They moved to Wenham in 1644, he was a Captain of the Militia in that town,
and constable (Wenham's first). In 1653 he was Representative to the
General Court, and was appointed "Commissioner to end small causes"
(probably a justice) in 1654. He married secondly Elizabeth Eastwick at
Wenham, MA in June 1660. His will was dated in March 1673 and was proved
in June the same year. In it, mention is made of sons James (who received
one half of the house and land), John and Thomas (who received the remainder),
but not of his wife (poss. deceased) or any daughters. Among his legatees
were "nephews Samuel, who was to have his great
Bible, and Mark Fiske." All of those mentioned were apparently born
in England some years before emigration, as son James was made freeman
in the same year as his father, and the youngest son Thomas was about
twelve years old at that time. The family probably emigrated at the same
time as their relatives, Rev. John (216) and William (217) Ffiske, as their
names appear simultaneously, in 1641, on the records of Salem Church.
