Troubleshooting DSL - Existing DSL Line

Step 1:

Un-plug the DSL modem, wait for 15 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for all lights to come on then continue.

Question: Do all the lights on the DSL modem come on?

Yes:
Go to the next step.

No:
There may be a problem with the line and you may need to open a trouble ticket with the phone company. Please contact our support department at 1-877-546-5345.



Step 2:

Question: Can you connect to the Internet now?

Yes:
Your DSL is working properly now. Sometimes the modem needs to be power cycled every once in a while to reset the link. If you find yourself having to do this constantly then there may be a problem on the line and a trouble ticket may need to be opened.

No:
Go to the next step.



Step 3:

Question: Have you rebooted the computer?

Yes:
Go to the next step.

No:
Reboot the computer, then try your Internet connection again. If it is still not working then go to next step.



Step 4:

Question: Are you on a network, using a hub, router, or other networking devices?

Yes:
Try troubleshooting your network, make sure all the cables are plugged in and if using a router, that it is properly configured. If you have a network administrator please contact them first. If you are still unable to solve the problem please call 1-877-546-5345.

No:
Go to the next step.



Step 5:

Question: Do you have an Internet connection now?

Yes:
Your DSL is working properly. If you have questions feel free to contact us.

No:
If you are still unable to solve the problem please call 1-877-546-5345.
